Infrastructure

Oftentimes, restrictive warehousing and distribution facilities add to timeframes and infrastructure costs. Extended product lead times mean products simply cannot be delivered quickly enough causing bottlenecks which incur stand down charges during a roll-out programme.

Unlike lighting manufacturers, our distribution infrastructure eliminates these issues. Our products are bought in bulk, centrally warehoused in Leicester then processed, managed and distributed individually to store at pace. Our customers can have complete confidence that our stock profile and forward buying capacities mean that the correct stock level is available at all times and the right product will be there when needed.

I have worked with Synergy Lighting for the last eight years, both in my role on the leadership team of Europe’s leading lighting manufacturer and of late in my role as Managing Director of McGregor Parry Limited. This is based on their track record of successful project delivery and the way they do business – by asking the right questions they understand the brief / project exactly, plan with detailed efficiency and deliver on time in full. Over the years they have supported me with projects for leading high street retailers – Marks and Spencer, Morrisons and Ted Baker. Most recently they have sourced perfect fit product, warehoused, distributed and managed the installation process for 92 stores over a four month period. This project has been delivered 100% on time, in full – with change requests and additional works added to the scope during the project. The latest project they have supported was for the installation of a large number of light fittings in a trading flagship retail store. We first came across Richard and the team at Synergy through a mutual connection whereby Synergy had already carried out extensive works to their facility.  We were long overdue a new lighting scheme so we asked Richard to visit our facility and come up with a proposal.  One of the key messages that I delivered was that under no circumstances could any works or associated activity result in disruption to our incredibly busy site (we run 24hrs a day 5 ½ days a week).  After reviewing the proposal that Richard had produced we made some subtle changes and set about creating a critical path – I can honestly say that I wish all projects went as smoothly as that.
